Check Network Connection to Fix Amazon Prime on LG TV

If you are met with the Amazon Prime Video message ‘Something went wrong’, first check your network connection.

A poor internet connection is the most common reason for receiving this message when using Amazon Prime on an LG TV.

You can fix this by first unplugging your router, then disconnecting and reconnecting your LG TV to your network again.

Next, try once again to access Amazon Prime Video on your LG TV.

Are you still getting the message? You might need to check your Amazon Prime Video app.

Uninstall Amazon Prime Video on your LG TV

If you’re still seeing ‘Something went wrong’ on your LG TV, then uninstall your Amazon Prime Video app.

You can do this by following these simple steps:

  • Hover your remote control over ‘Amazon Prime Video’, and when you see the upwards facing arrow, press ‘OK’.
  • You should now see an ‘X’ with a skull icon above it.

Why Does Amazon Prime TV Fail to Launch on Smart TVs?

Amazon Prime Video is an app on LG TV, and other brands of smart TVs too.

Because Amazon Prime is an app, it can be interrupted by poor network connections.  Software updates and issues on Amazon Prime’s servers can also cause issues loading the on-demand service.

So, this means that Amazon Prime Video can fail on all smart TVs, not only LG TV.

Whilst it can be frustrating, these simple solutions should get Amazon Prime TV working on your LG TV. It is also worth checking the network connection if you encounter this issue on any other smart TVs or devices too.

In fact, if your LG TV displays ‘Could not establish a connection to access point’, you might have issues with your network connection. This will prevent access to apps such as Amazon Prime, Netflix, and other streaming platforms too.

Luckily, we can also help you fix this common network problem too. Take a look at what to do if your LG TV is having network connection issues.
